The Place Honors Precision Concrete Construction With Community Partnership Award
Cumming, GA (November 2025) - The Place is proud to present Precision Concrete Construction with its Community Partnership Award in recognition of the company's extraordinary generosity, craftsmanship, and commitment to supporting vulnerable youth and families across Forsyth and Dawson counties.
Precision Concrete led a series of transformational projects for The Place, including major improvements to The Cottage, The Place's home for young women at risk of homelessness. The company donated significant labor, materials, supervision, and expertise to build a new driveway for The Cottage, ensuring safe access for residents, staff, and emergency services.
In addition to their work at The Cottage, Precision Concrete also completed key projects at The Place's main campus, including concrete enhancements for the thrift store drop-off area and a concrete pad for the organization's new outdoor walk-in freezer, which supports expanded food storage for the Food Pantry.
These projects represent a combined investment of more than $50,000, with Precision Concrete contributing the majority of the labor and coordination at no cost. The company also brought several partners to the table, whose donated or reduced-cost services helped make the work possible:
Grogan Disposal - Dumpster services
Argos Concrete - Donated concrete
Contractors Sales International - Formwork materials and equipment
"Precision Concrete Construction stepped forward in a remarkable way," said Paige Whalen, Director of Client Services. "Their generosity has made our programs safer, stronger, and more accessible, especially for the young women living at The Cottage. This is what true community partnership looks like."
Jim Newsome, Vice President and Director of Construction Management at Precision Concrete, coordinated the projects and expressed the company's ongoing commitment to service. "We're glad we could help," leadership at Precision shared. "Please let us know how we can continue to support future projects this year."
The Place is grateful for Precision Concrete's leadership and for the outstanding community partners who joined them in their mission to serve neighbors in need.
