Over 50 Years Later, One Thing Has Never Changed
For five decades, neighbors have been helping neighbors. Today, your compassion continues that legacy.
A little over Fifty years ago, four Adrian Dominican Sisters saw people in our community struggling to make ends meet. They believed no one should have to face hardship alone, and they chose to do something about it.
That simple act of compassion became The Place.
Over the past five decades, our community has changed dramatically. Forsyth and Dawson counties have grown. New neighborhoods, new businesses, and new families have transformed our community in ways those founders could never have imagined.
But one thing hasn't changed.
Every day, someone still needs help.
A parent wondering how they'll put food on the table before payday.
A senior choosing between groceries and medication.
A family facing an unexpected job loss.
A student who needs stability to focus on school.
While the faces and circumstances may be different, the need for compassionate neighbors remains exactly the same.
And so does the response.
The Story is not About Us
It has always been people.
The volunteer stocking pantry shelves.
The donor making a monthly gift.
The church collecting food.
The local business sponsoring a fundraiser.
The family who once received help and now returns to give back.
The Place has always been a community choosing to care for one another.
Looking Ahead
While we're proud of everything we've accomplished together over the past five decades, we're even more excited about what's ahead.
Because we know there will always be neighbors who need hope.
There will always be families working hard to overcome difficult seasons.
And thankfully, there will always be people like you.
Your generosity ensures that when someone reaches out for help, we're ready to answer.
Fifty years ago, our founders believed that a caring community could change lives.
Every day, you prove they were right.

A Winning Night for Our Community!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Bingo Night! We had a fantastic evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit, all while supporting the mission of The Place. Events like these are a wonderful reminder that making a difference can be fun, too!
Congratulations to all of our lucky Bingo winners! We hope you enjoy your prizes, and thank you for helping make the night such a success.
